Semaglutide is a safe and effective, FDA-approved medication for both diabetes and weight loss.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Semaglutide works in multiple ways. It slows down gastric emptying, which gives you the sensation leading to reduced hunger and increased feelings of fullness after eating. This can result in decreased food intake and, subsequently, weight loss.
It also reduces blood sugars and increases insulin sensitivity. This medication also acts on an area of the brain called the hypothalamus that helps regular appetite. This combination results in weight loss, both in pounds and inches, increased energy levels, and a boosted metabolism.
It's important to mention that while semaglutide can be beneficial for weight loss, it is not a standalone solution. It is typically prescribed as an adjunct to lifestyle modifications, such as a healthy diet and regular physical activity. Additionally, not everyone may be a suitable candidate for semaglutide, and its use should be discussed with a healthcare provider, taking into consideration individual health conditions and medical history.
THE FACTS
This medication is given via subcutaneous injection (fine needle into the fatty tissue of the abdomen), once per week. We will teach you how to administer this medication so it can be given in the comfort of your own home with fewer visits to the office.
The initial consultation is 30 minutes.
Your next appointment will be a medication pick-up! Those appointments last only 5 minutes.
A one-time, $300 consultation with lab draw is required.
Once approved, the medication is
$500 per month or $2700 for 6-months, paid in full.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR APPOINTMENT:
At your Semaglutide appointment at Faces in Bloom, expect a thorough evaluation and discussion with one of our providers regarding medical history and health assessment. We will discuss treatment goals and educate you on the use of semaglutide, dosing, and administration instructions. At this appointment, you can expect to have your blood drawn, your blood pressure taken, and an accurate height and weight recorded.
HOW MUCH DOWNTIME SHOULD YOU PLAN FOR?
The actual injection takes only a few minutes and there should be no significant disruption to your daily activities or routine. Some individuals may experience mild side effects such as nausea, constipation, vomiting, or diarrhea, especially when starting the medication, but these side effects generally improve over time.
HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR TREATMENT:
Please come to your consultation well-hydrated and with an accurate, updated list of your current medications. This will ensure an easier blood draw and help your provider determine if you are a good candidate for semaglutide. When coming to the clinic for medication pick-up appointments, please bring a lunch container with an ice pack so you can keep the medication at a stable temperature when you travel home. Please come with any questions about your treatment so we can make sure to get them answered before you leave.
WHEN WILL YOU SEE RESULTS?
For weight loss, the time frame to see results with semaglutide can also vary. In clinical trials, individuals who used semaglutide for weight management usually started seeing significant weight loss within the first 12 weeks of treatment.
