The procedure involves using a handheld device that contains tiny, insulated needles that penetrate the skin at provider-chosen depths. Potenza RF Microneedling is an advanced aesthetic procedure that combines the benefits of microneedling and radiofrequency (RF) energy to rejuvenate the skin and address various concerns.
Fine, insulated needles create controlled micro-injuries on the skin's surface, promoting the body's natural healing response. Simultaneously, the device delivers RF energy into the deeper layers of the skin, generating controlled heat. This combination of microneedling and RF energy stimulates collagen and elastin production, leading to improved skin texture, reduced wrinkles, and enhanced skin firmness. The controlled thermal effect also aids in treating scars and promoting overall skin rejuvenation. As the skin heals, it becomes smoother, more youthful, and revitalized.
THE FACTS
Potenza RF Microneedling treatments should be spaced 4-6 weeks apart to allow the microwounds created during treatment to heal sufficiently between appointments. Once desired results are achieved, we recommend 1-2 treatments per year to maintain results.
You will be instructed to arrive 30 minutes early to your Potenza treatment session so that topical numbing cream can be applied for your comfort. The actual procedure itself takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR APPOINTMENT:
Arriving 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment is essential to allow for us to cleanse your skin and apply numbing cream, giving it ample time to take effect before your procedure. Your comfort is our top priority! After 20-30 minutes, your numbing cream will be wiped away and you are ready to start your laser treatment. The procedure itself takes 30-45 minutes.
You will leave your appointment with redness and slight swelling to the treated area. The swelling typically subsides within 24 hours but redness may persist for up to 72 hours. Your provider will instruct you on the appropriate post-care for your procedure prior to your departure.
HOW MUCH DOWNTIME SHOULD YOU PLAN FOR?
After a Potenza RF Microneedling treatment, most patients experience mild social downtime, though this is dependent on the aggressiveness of the procedure. Immediately after your appointment, you can expect some pinpoint bleeding, mild swelling, and visible redness (similar to a mild sunburn) due to the body's natural inflammatory response to injury. This typically subsides within 24-48 hours. During your recovery, it is important to continue a healthy skincare regimen consisting of a gentle cleanser, rich moisturizer, and mineral based sunscreen. Don’t worry, we have everything you need!
HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR TREATMENT:
Upon booking, you will be emailed detailed pre-treatment instructions! Be sure to follow them closely, as your treatment will be more effective and you will experience less downtime in doing so. Please arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment time for ample numbing. It is also beneficial to take 500mg of Tylenol 30 minutes prior to treatment as this can help with the discomfort that can occur during the procedure.
Other pre-treatment instructions include drinking plenty of water! Radiofrequency is attracted to water in and around cells, meaning hydrated skin will get a more effective treatment. You will also want to stop all active, exfoliative ingredients of skincare like retinol, AHA/BHA, and Vitamin C, one week prior to procedure.
WHEN WILL YOU SEE RESULTS?
After your Potenza RF Microneedling treatment, you will begin noticing your new, radiant skin after 4-6 weeks, as it takes time for your body to replenish and produce new collagen and elastin. It is important to plan ahead of time when booking; major events and holidays should be 4+ weeks in the future to allow proper healing time and to ensure your skin is the tightest and smoothest version of itself!

Unlike regular microneedling that only causes micro-injuries, Potenza’s Radiofrequency technology delivers energy and heat into the deeper layers of the skin. The combination of radiofrequency, heat, and micro-injury has been proven to stimulate more collagen and elastin production, leading to firmer skin, improved texture, and a reduction in static wrinkles.
Is the procedure painful?
Most people experience mild discomfort during their Potenza RF Microneedling treatments. We use a prescription-strength numbing cream to allow for the most comfortable treatment possible. Although the numbing cream is very effective, certain treatment areas may be more prone to discomfort. Most people rank a Potenza treatment a 4 out of 10 on the pain scale, in the most sensitive treatment areas.
