The ZO 3 Step Peel was created by an amazing dermatologist, Dr. Zein Obagi who has decades of medical grade, anti-aging studies and proven products. The ZO 3-Step Peel is designed to exfoliate the skin, improve skin texture, reduce signs of aging, address fine lines, wrinkles, pore size, and improve the health of your skin barrier. The treatment involves three steps, each curated to build on the next to result in deep exfoliation and rejuvenation of your skin.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Our skin is constantly shedding dead skin cells as part of its natural renewal process. The build up and accumulation of these dead skin cells makes the skin look dull and unattractive. Peels help remove these dead cells, revealing fresher, healthier skin beneath.
- Peel Solution: The first step involves applying a chemical solution to the skin, which typically contains a combination of acids, such as salicylic acid and trichloroacetic acid (TCA). This solution helps exfoliate the top layer of skin cells, promoting skin renewal.
- Retinol Crème: After the peel solution, a retinol crème is applied to the skin. Retinol is a form of vitamin A that can help improve skin texture, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and promote collagen production.
- Calming Crème: The final step is the application of a calming crème. This helps soothe the skin and minimize any potential discomfort or redness caused by the chemical peel.

FREQUENCY OF TREATMENT
The ZO 3 Step Peel can be completed in a series of three, 4-6 weeks apart, or as a single bi-annual treatment. We love doing this peel at least once every Fall and Spring.
DURATION OF TREATMENT
The duration of a ZO 3 Step Peel appointment takes about 30 minutes. The actual peel portion takes around 5 minutes to complete.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR APPOINTMENT:
The skin is thoroughly cleansed to remove any makeup, dirt, or oils. After your skin is clean, the provider will move through the three curated steps of the peel starting with application of the peel solution. This can feel warm with a mild burning sensation while the peel is applied. The next step involves the retinol cream being applied and massaged into the treated area. The last step is the Calming Crème which helps alleviate the heat caused by the peel and retinol solution.

The downtime associated with the ZO 3-Step Peel can vary depending on the individual skin sensitivity. The downtime can range from 3 to 7 days, during which your skin may appear sunburned and start to peel in a manner similar to a sunburn. You will need to limit sun exposure during this time, making sure to wear sunscreen and a hat when going outside. Makeup may be applied after the initial healing phase, but it's essential to avoid picking or peeling the skin, as this can lead to complications and scarring. Keep in mind that individual responses to chemical peels can vary, and some people may experience more or less downtime than others.
